Lord of Vermillion Re2 to feature Touhou, Valkyrie Profile Silmeria, Star Ocean characters

Famitsu’s new feature on Lord of Vermillion Re2, Square Enix’s latest arcade CCG revision, reveals guest characters from several other series. Valkyrie Profile Silmeria, developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix, will contribute Alicia and Rufus, while Star Ocean 4’s Iseria Queen and Gabriel Celeste will appear. Most notable is the addition of Reimu Hakurei and Yuyuko Saigyouji from Touhou, a series of indie shmups created by an (update: former) Square Enix employee which makes its first appearance in a commercial game here.

Oi. Touhou wasn’t made by a Square Enix employee. ZUN is an independent programmer now, and previously worked for Taito. Please keep your facts straight.

Ah, I’d missed the interview mentioning that he left. Updated!

was ZUN EVER part of Square… He made touhou all by himself and started it since his COLLEGE years… he isn’t and wasn’t a part of square

I will retract my commenty… He Wasn’t a part of Square But there are rumors running around that he Will be A sound engieneer…

He was, as far as the internet can tell, employed as a sound engineer at Taito for some time after Square completely absorbed them. He’s certainly credited on at least one game post-acquisition.
