News roundup, 9/18

Yesterday’s odds, ends, and missed connections, and what’s coming up today.

S-E’s promotional push for It’s a Wonderful World continues with a live event to be held at Shibuya O-West on November 26th. Full details have yet to be revealed, but the teaser image mentions the final round of vocal auditions and an appearance by composer Ishimoto.

In other Square Enix news, regionals for the first Gyrozetter national tournament, the “Arcadia Grand Prix”, will begin October 6th in Kinki, with other regions following weekly.

Finally, Emperors SaGa has begun operation on Gree. Another of Gree’s card-collecting pseudo-RPGs, the player is cast as an emperor who assembles their personal guard from a cast of past SaGa characters. Tomomi Kobayashi, character artist for the Romancingand Frontier subseries, is art director, so at least the cards will probably be pretty.

Two more companies have revealed more detailed TGS plans. D3 will host an EDF3 Portable boot camp-themed stage and walk-in tournament, as well as a photo session with Palewing and the Dream Club cast. AVerMedia, a video equipment company, is hosting fighting game players Gamer Bee, Tokido, and Mago. Attendees can take on Gamer Bee in best-of-5 Super Street Fighter IV matches for a chance at a HDMI capture device signed by all three; he will also play exhibition matches against Mago (in SSF4) and Tokido (in Street Fighter x Tekken).

The Little Battlers eXperience W site has updated announcing a stop-motion animation project featuring the series’ model kits.

Tickets for the Sakura Wars Kanadegumi theatrical production will go on sale tomorrow.

A demo for Resident Evil 6 will be posted to PSN and XBL today.

And last but not least, SD Gundam G Generation Overworld‘s site has posted an interview with voice actor Yuichi Nakamura to accompany the new TV ad featuring him.
