Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX (PS3) details
This week’s Famitsu magazine has an interview with the staff on the upcoming PS3 HD remaster compilation of the original Kingdom Hearts and Re:Chain of Memories. It reveals that the co-director on the project is Tai Yasue, and the producer is Rie Nishi. Both previously worked on Kingdom Hearts games produced by the Osaka team – Re:Chain of Memories, Birth by Sleep, and Dream Drop Distance. The director on the project as with all Kingdom Hearts titles, is Tetsuya Nomura himself.
The staff shared with Famitsu that for the HD adaptation of the 358/2 Days cutscenes, they are converting about 70% of all the scenes in the main story into fully voiced 3D cutscenes in HD. There will be over 100 event scenes in the theater mode. For the original Kingdom Hearts game, they are also polishing up the controls and gameplay so it feels more in-line with Kingdom Hearts II. Both Kingdom Hearts and Re:Chain of Memories will also support trophies. It appears that the team is also experimenting with substituting some of the character models for the newer versions designed for the recent 3DS title Dream Drop Distance.
