FFXIV servers to reopen for Oct/Nov players

Square-Enix has announced that the most loyal residents of Eorzea will be able to return for a short while, beginning at 5PM on the 21st. Players who logged in beginning October 1st (including those who took advantage of November’s free logins) will be able to play on worlds patched to 9/13 (1.23b) level, although any additional levels and loot will not carry over to their Realm Reborn incarnations.

Sega has officially announced 7th Dragon 2020-Ⅱ. Apart from following Square-Enix down the rabbit hole of sequels with -two- numbers, the PSP dungeon RPG, which will launch in Spring 2013 for ¥6,279, will include the new job “Idol” and feature a cast of 40 actors. The plot will be set in the year 2021, a year after the previous title.

Sega announces Virtual On Marz for PS2 Archives

Sega’s Virtual On blog has announced a PS2 Archives release of Virtual On Marz. It will support the Twin Stick 3 from Hori, which is also getting another production run with orders opening on the 22nd. The release is scheduled for a Spring 2013, to allow time to implement previously-lacking peripheral support for PS2 Archives.

Dragon Ball Heroes Ultimate Mission dated/priced

Dragon Ball Heroes Ultimate Mission, a 3DS adaption of the card game first teased in August, will release 2/28 for ¥5,800. The game will include complete card lists from sest 1 through GM4, a mission-based mode, and a new opening animation; early buyers will get special cards for the physical game.

Bravely Defauly to get “future developments” livestream 11/27

Dengeki will be sponsoring a Bravely Default livestream at 9 PM on November 27th. The Niconico stream, with guests including producer Tomoya Asano and actress Mai Aizawa, will include both fan surveys and announcements of “future franchise developments”.

Update: There is also a survey contest, limited to Japan residents, with the following questions: “What new jobs would you like to see in a BD sequel, and why?”, “what plot points would you like to see expanded on in a sequel or spinoff”, and “what BD merchandise would you like to see?”

The Wii Virtual Console release of Metal Slug 4 will go live on the 20th for 900 Wii points. This marks the last currently-announced VC release and the last date on the VC schedule before Wii U launch.

Atelier Totori Plus will receive daily website updates until its launch on the 29th. The last four days are scheduled to include new trailers.

Kadokawa’s moe dungeon-crawler Demon Gaze has added voice cast listings to its official site. Gameplay footage will be released during a UStream session on the 21st.

Inazuma Eleven 1-2-3 delayed

Level-5’s 3DS soccer RPG Inazuma Eleven 1-2-3, previously scheduled for 11/29, has been delayed until sometime this winter for further polish. No other details were given in the announcement.
