Monster Hunter 4 delayed to summer

As noted by our intrepid tipster @emitans, Monster Hunter 4 for 3DS has been delayed by Capcom until this summer, according to IR press releases.

NEWS

Soul Sacrifice demo progress will carry over to the retail game, and demo players will receive a “Heart of the Spirits” non-elemental summon. Those who buy the first press will get Dancer’s Vestments, which unlock a poison attack, a log-range thunder attack, and a flame attack.

Ultraman All Star Chronicle, a PSP SRPG, will release on March 7th. Both digital and UMD versions will cost 6,280 yen. The game, developed by Metro, will also include 10 custom themes and social game bonuses in its first press. Twelve Ultramen will appear in realistic proportions to be leveled up as you see fit; the game system involves units moving at their own pace, FFT-style, rather than side-then-side like SRW.

Battle Robot Spirits will feature Armored Core V’s UCR-10/A. Also added are the Anti-Zega Mayindie, Billbine, L-Gaim, and ARX-7 Arbalest.

The good Dark Souls 2 news: no item DLC. The bad news: the trailer wasn’t ingame.

Macross 30will add Ganeth (Hiroyuki Yoshino) and Mei Lee-Long (Ayana Taketatsu). The controls will be available in PSP-style Type A or cursor-based lockon Type B. Easy mode will fight automatically, and multiple endings are available.

Jia Chong and Zhang Chunhua will appear in Dynasty Warriors 8.

Three new heroes join Seimado Monogatari: The trio Narn (Matsuri Mizuguchi), Wudong (Noriko Fujimoto), and Panna (Hitomi Terakado) seek to oppose Pupuru.

Tiger & Bunny Hero’s Day has been announced for PSP. The title will be developed by D3.

Senran Kagura Shinobi Versus’s article introduces the Homura Guren-dan, details the censoring used when a character’s clothes are completely ripped off (beams of light and the girl’s own face), and announced that you can now tear clothes off in the dressing room. The story mode will be split into a main story and character-specific chapters.

Seimado Monogatari, the revival of Compile’s classic dungeon-crawler that spawned Puyo Puyo, has announced three new castings: Rie Matsunaga as Eternia, Tetsuto Furukawa as Nicoli, and Kaori Sano as Lyrica.

In other voice acting news, Kaori Ishihara will play Cecily in Disgaea D2.

Square-Enix’s new arcade franchise Gyrozetter is coming to the 3DS as Gyrozetter: Albattle no Tsubasa (“Wings of Albattle”) in the spring.

Super Robot Wars UX announced

Super Robot Wars UX (3DS, March 14th, 7140 yen)

New series: Demonbane, Sokyu no Fafner Heaven and Earth, Wings of Rean, Fei Yin HD (from Virtual On), Mobile Suit Gundam 00 A wakening of the Trailblazer, SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors, Mazinkaiser SKL, Heroman

Themed 3DS also planned, Tsume Suparobo puzzle mission (like later GBA titles) DLC planned/code packed in first press

New Monster Hunter 4 weapon: Charge Axe

The new Charge Axe weapon for Monster Hunter 4 has been revealed. When split into sword form, it’s capable of nearly continuous swift attacks as well as blocking with a shield; you can also charge up power, which will make the hilt glow yellow when ready.

In axe mode it’s got a long reach, higher power, and is capable of releasing elemental attacks.

In addition, a Primeval Forest field was shown.

More Monster Hunter 4 details have been revealed, again! A huge trident-looking thing is seen in silhouette, with full details to come in the issue on newsstands 12/13 (or 12/11 US time counting speedy leaks).

Osawari Tantei Nameko Daihanshoku (“Touch Detective Nameko Big Breeding”) has been announced. Success’s mushroom-farming game, which would be far less eyebrow-raising than it is if only you weren’t raising mushrooms, will launch in late February on the 3DS for ¥3,900 with local and online MP.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva F will include songs “Tell Your World” by livetune and “Sweet Devil” by Hachioji P. Revealed modules(?) are Linkage and Honeywhip; clothing is seen in silhouette, with hints that it’s appropriate for biking. EDIT: Expert and kinda mad sources say, “Senbonzakura”.

A Yakuza 5 demo will go up on PSN on the 27th. The demo will take place in a subset of the new Nagabuchi, Fukuoka area and cover early portions of the game.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva F has been dated for March 7th. The game costs ¥7,329 yen.

The new Animal Crossing has become the first 3DS million-seller.

Daisenryaku Perfect has been delayed a seventh time, this time until spring 2013.

PS3 budget rereleases of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD are planned for February 7th.

FFXIV servers to reopen for Oct/Nov players

Square-Enix has announced that the most loyal residents of Eorzea will be able to return for a short while, beginning at 5PM on the 21st. Players who logged in beginning October 1st (including those who took advantage of November’s free logins) will be able to play on worlds patched to 9/13 (1.23b) level, although any additional levels and loot will not carry over to their Realm Reborn incarnations.

Sega has officially announced 7th Dragon 2020-Ⅱ. Apart from following Square-Enix down the rabbit hole of sequels with -two- numbers, the PSP dungeon RPG, which will launch in Spring 2013 for ¥6,279, will include the new job “Idol” and feature a cast of 40 actors. The plot will be set in the year 2021, a year after the previous title.

This week’s Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus article introduces the Hanzo Academy girls; the former Hebionna five are also visible on the cover illustration.

Sega announces Virtual On Marz for PS2 Archives

Sega’s Virtual On blog has announced a PS2 Archives release of Virtual On Marz. It will support the Twin Stick 3 from Hori, which is also getting another production run with orders opening on the 22nd. The release is scheduled for a Spring 2013, to allow time to implement previously-lacking peripheral support for PS2 Archives.
